All my dogs are rescue dogs. And they are all special to me. If I had to quibble with the Creator on any one issue it might be that the lifespan of dogs is too short. Sympathy on your loss...

One of my dogs passed away a few weeks ago. He's the only dog that I had from the age of 6 weeks old. Tucker was a playful pup and a loyal friend. I will miss him greatly.

When I look around for answers to my prayers and become discouraged that I can't find any, I have to remember to look at things more closely. And may be with a different perspective. My remaining dog, Timmy, needs a buddy for company when I'm not there. I've been searching and haven't been very successful.

Timmy is a rescue dog. A farmer put him in a crate that was too small for him and rationed his water. After being rescued, Timmy had a hard time walking and was very dehydrated.

Even after that, Timmy's a very loving dog. It's truly remarkable that he trusts people as much as he does.

I could benefit from Timmy's attitude. Forgive those who have wronged you. Make the best of what life gives you.

May be I haven't found another dog because I had to appreciate the dog that I have.

Thanks for your post.

Amen, my friend! What a great reflection. It is a challenge for us young adult "church ladies" but working to change the stereotype and reality of parish life will help to bring about a better Church as well. Not to mention, your music is great and people really do enjoy it.

I miss you and St. Anne's even more in reading this piece!

This is such a beautiful reflection, Ed. It is so wonderful to read your posts because I've never had the chance to really enjoy the fruits of your English degrees, and you weave them so well into the beauties and trials of our faith that I cannot understand you have not "published" this type of writing before now (or at least as long as I've known you). Thank-you!

What a wonderful reflection and reminder that we are to be the Body of Christ, following Jesus' spirit of compassion and hospitality.
